Implementation of Comprehensive Pharmacist Patient Assessment, Prescribing, and Billing for Oregon's Tobacco Cessation initiative - How to follow Oregon’s legal & regulatory guidelines
At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, participants will be able to:
1) List the standards of pharmacy practice and prescribing from the formulary and protocol compendium, as approved and adopted by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy required by OAR 855-020-0105
2) Describe the implementation of pharmacist-provided tobacco cessation assessment, prescribing, and billing, per Oregon’s model in the state’s sponsored course
3) Describe the two legal methods that enable Oregon pharmacist prescribing
4) Identify past initiatives for pharmacist prescribing in Oregon and how they led to current Tobacco Cessation prescribing provisions for pharmacists in Oregon: enabling rules & regulations
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education Information:
This program has been planned and implemented in accordance with the policies of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education through the sponsorship of OSU College of Pharmacy. The OSU College of Pharmacy is approved by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Upon completion of this activity, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, and a Statement of Credit shall be uploaded to CPE Monitor. Completion requires 1) Registration for the course 2) Completion of all modules and 3) Completion of the program evaluation.
